Also paticipating in this year's scheme is the Greater London Authority.
The Greater London Authority (GLA) is at the strategic centre of London's government and the home to the directly elected Mayor of London - Boris Johnson - and the 25 strong London Assembly. The GLA gets involved in policy and programme work covering a wide variety of different fields - including community safety, planning, transport, economic development, housing, environment, culture and health. The GLA also sets the £12bn annual budget for the GLA Group which encompasses Transport for London, the London Development Agency, the Metropolitan Police Authority, the London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority and the GLA itself.
